Terms of Service

Effective date: 23 July 2026 · Operator: Hamza Ghariani

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the EuropeCV website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by EuropeCV ("EuropeCV", "we", "us", or "our") at https://www.europecv.io.

By creating an account, purchasing Credits, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy at /privacy, and our Cookie Policy at /cookies.

These Terms do not guarantee that EuropeCV is protected from all legal claims, and they do not by themselves establish legal compliance.

2. Definitions

  • "Account" means your registered user profile.
  • "Credits" means prepaid units used to access certain paid features of the Service.
  • "User Content" means resumes, CVs, cover letters, job descriptions, profile images, and other materials you upload, enter, or approve through the Service.
  • "AI Output" means text, scores, suggestions, analyses, recommendations, or documents generated or modified by the Service using automated or AI-assisted processing.
  • "ATS Analysis" means automated compatibility, keyword, formatting, or scoring analysis of resumes against job descriptions or related inputs.
  • "Third-Party Services" means third-party products or services we use to operate the Service, such as payment processing, hosting, authentication, database, storage, and AI inference providers.

3. Acceptance of Terms

You must read and accept these Terms before using the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you purchase Credits or use paid features, additional checkout information, pricing information, and legally required consumer notices may also apply.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing if higher, and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

5. Account Registration

To access most features, you must create an Account using email and password and/or supported OAuth providers (currently Google and LinkedIn, as implemented). You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.

6. Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and all activity under your Account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • The accuracy, legality, and truthfulness of all User Content you upload, enter, approve, or use through the Service.
  • Ensuring that all information contained in your resume, CV, cover letter, job application, or other documents is accurate and not misleading.
  • Reviewing, verifying, and approving all AI Output before using, submitting, publishing, or sharing it.
  • Correcting any inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading information generated or modified by the Service.
  • Ensuring that any AI-generated or AI-modified content accurately represents your actual education, qualifications, employment history, skills, certifications, achievements, and experience.
  • Your job applications and communications with employers.
  • Compliance with applicable employment, privacy, intellectual property, and other applicable laws.

AI systems may generate incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate information, including information that was not provided by you. This may include AI hallucinations, invented facts, fabricated qualifications, incorrect employment history, incorrect dates, inaccurate skills, omitted information, misinterpreted information, outdated information, or other unintended changes to your content.

You are responsible for carefully reviewing the final version of any resume, CV, cover letter, or other document before submitting it to an employer or any third party.

You must not knowingly submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information to employers or other third parties.

8. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful personal or internal business career-development purposes consistent with these Terms.

9. Prohibited Activities

You must not:

  • upload content you lack rights to use or process without authorization or a lawful basis;
  • upload illegal, defamatory, harassing, or malicious content;
  • upload malware, viruses, or files intended to disrupt or compromise the Service;
  • bypass authentication, authorization, credit limits, rate limits, or access controls;
  • manipulate API requests, client-side code, or network traffic to avoid legitimate Credit consumption or security controls;
  • attempt to obtain unauthorized Credits, payment benefits, or access to paid features;
  • access, scrape, export, or use another user's data without authorization;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest, or automate abuse of the Service except as permitted by applicable law;
  • attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking, or other attacks intended to compromise the Service, extract system prompts, obtain API keys or secrets, or bypass safeguards;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except where prohibited by applicable law;
  • interfere with or disrupt the availability, integrity, or security of the Service;
  • exploit payment systems, initiate fraudulent transactions, or abuse refund or chargeback processes;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without written permission;
  • use the Service to make unlawful employment decisions about third parties.

10. AI Services

The Service uses automated and AI-assisted tools to analyze, modify, improve, score, match, and generate career-related content.

AI systems may produce errors and are not a substitute for your own judgment, verification, or professional advice. EuropeCV does not warrant that AI Output is accurate, complete, current, unbiased, lawful, or suitable for any purpose.

Without limiting the foregoing, AI may generate incorrect information, invent information, modify information incorrectly, omit information, misinterpret information, produce outdated information, or produce misleading or inappropriate content.

11. AI-Generated Content and User Verification

The Service uses artificial intelligence and automated processing to analyze, modify, improve, and generate content.

AI Output may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, hallucinations, fabricated information, or unintended modifications to User Content.

EuropeCV does not guarantee that AI Output will be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your specific circumstances.

You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI Output before using or submitting it.

In particular, you are responsible for verifying that any final resume, CV, cover letter, or other career document accurately reflects your real qualifications, education, employment history, professional experience, skills, certifications, achievements, and other personal information.

If the Service modifies, rewrites, summarizes, or generates content that is inaccurate or different from your original information, you are responsible for identifying and correcting such content before using the resulting document.

EuropeCV is not responsible for false, inaccurate, or misleading information that you knowingly or negligently approve, retain, or submit after receiving AI-generated or AI-modified content, except to the extent that such liability cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You should never rely solely on AI-generated content without reviewing it for accuracy and completeness.

12. ATS Analysis and Scores

ATS scores, compatibility ratings, keyword matches, formatting checks, and related metrics are estimates and informational tools based on automated analysis. They are not guarantees, certifications, or official assessments.

They do not guarantee passage through any specific ATS, employer system, recruiter workflow, or hiring process, and may differ materially from real employer screening results.

They should not be treated as professional career, legal, HR, or recruitment advice.

Public marketing demonstrations may use simplified or illustrative flows that differ from authenticated analysis features available after sign-in.

13. Resume and CV Services

The Service may parse, analyze, enhance, store temporarily, render, and export resumes or CVs. Supported formats and size limits are enforced server-side.

Processing may include document parsing, template rendering, preview generation, and PDF generation. Failures in parsing, enhancement, preview generation, or PDF generation may occur and are handled according to these Terms and applicable law.

14. Job Matching

Job-matching and job-description analysis features identify potential keyword, skill, or formatting gaps. Results are informational only and may not reflect actual employer requirements, recruiter preferences, or hiring decisions.

15. Cover Letter Services

Cover letter generation produces draft text based on your inputs and related resume data. You must verify accuracy, tone, and factual content before use or submission.

16. User Content

You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the limited license below.

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and truthfulness of User Content and for ensuring that you have all necessary rights to upload, enter, and use it through the Service.

You may upload and process your own personal information, including information normally contained in resumes and career documents, as necessary to use the Service.

You must not upload documents belonging to others without authorization or a lawful basis, upload content that infringes intellectual-property rights, upload malicious files, or intentionally or negligently submit unlawful or misleading information to third parties through documents created with the Service.

17. Uploaded Documents

You must not upload documents containing unlawful content or personal data of third parties without a lawful basis.

You are responsible for redacting sensitive information where appropriate and for deciding what information to include in documents you submit to employers or other third parties.

EuropeCV processes uploaded documents only as necessary to provide the requested functionality and as described in the Privacy Policy.

18. Intellectual Property

The Service, including software, source code, branding, templates, designs, user interface, workflows, and documentation (excluding your User Content), is owned by EuropeCV or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

EuropeCV does not claim ownership of your original User Content.

Subject to applicable law and these Terms, you may use AI Output for your personal career purposes, including preparing and submitting job applications, but you remain responsible for reviewing and verifying all outputs before use.

AI-generated or AI-modified content may not qualify for copyright protection in every jurisdiction, and eligibility may depend on the level of human authorship, selection, and revision. EuropeCV does not guarantee that any AI Output is eligible for copyright protection.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of EuropeCV's proprietary systems, templates, branding, or software to you.

19. License to Process User Content

You grant EuropeCV a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, parse, display, and otherwise use User Content solely as necessary to:

  • provide the features you request;
  • perform AI processing and generate AI Output;
  • generate previews, exports, and PDFs;
  • maintain security, backups, and service reliability for the retention periods described in the Privacy Policy;
  • comply with applicable law and enforce these Terms.

This license is limited to legitimate Service purposes and does not grant EuropeCV ownership of your User Content.

This license ends when User Content is deleted in accordance with our retention and deletion practices, except where retention is required by law or technically necessary for limited backup, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.

20. Credits

Credits are prepaid units that unlock certain paid features. Credits are not money, electronic money, or a stored-value instrument, have no cash value except where required by applicable law, are non-transferable between Accounts, and cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by applicable law.

Unless required by applicable law, Credits are generally not refundable once used to access a paid feature.

Credit balances, eligibility, and consumption are determined by the authoritative server-side system. Displayed costs may change over time; if there is any inconsistency between displayed information and server-side deduction, the server-side system controls.

21. Credit Consumption

Credits are validated and deducted server-side. Users cannot legitimately bypass Credit consumption by manipulating client requests.

As currently implemented, paid features may consume Credits when successfully initiated or completed according to the server-side logic for that feature, including ATS resume analysis, AI Resume Fix enhancement and related paid finalization, AI cover letter generation, and dashboard intelligence unlock.

Current server-side Credit costs, as implemented at the time these Terms were prepared, are: ATS resume analysis — 1 Credit; AI Resume Fix enhancement and related paid finalization — 2 Credits; AI cover letter generation — 1 Credit; dashboard intelligence unlock — 1 Credit. These costs may change for future use with appropriate notice where required.

Some preparatory or validation steps may not consume Credits. If a paid feature fails due to a technical error attributable to EuropeCV and Credits were incorrectly consumed, EuropeCV may restore the affected Credits through the server-side refund mechanisms implemented in the Service, subject to applicable law.

22. Payments

Paid Credit packs are sold as one-time purchases, not subscriptions, through Stripe Checkout as currently implemented.

Prices, packages, and displayed Credit amounts are shown on the pricing page and at checkout in EUR unless otherwise stated.

A purchase is completed when payment is successfully processed by the payment provider and Credits are delivered to your Account through the server-side fulfillment process.

Failed payments, abandoned checkout sessions, duplicate submissions, or payment processing errors may result in no Credits being delivered until payment is successfully completed and fulfilled.

23. Stripe Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. or another applicable Stripe entity.

Payment card details and payment authentication are handled by Stripe. EuropeCV does not store full payment card numbers.

EuropeCV may receive limited payment-related information from Stripe, such as payment status, transaction identifiers, customer identifiers, and purchase metadata, as needed to fulfill purchases, prevent fraud, and handle billing inquiries.

Stripe's own terms and privacy policy govern Stripe's processing of payment information.

24. Pricing

Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. We may change prices, packages, or Credit offerings for future purchases.

Mandatory consumer rights regarding price, pre-contract information, and digital content remain unaffected.

25. Taxes

Applicable taxes, including VAT where required, may be calculated and displayed at checkout depending on your location and the presentation of prices.

26. Refunds, Cancellations, and Payment Disputes

EuropeCV provides paid digital services and Credit-based features. Refund eligibility depends on the nature of the purchase, whether Credits or digital services have been used, whether a technical failure occurred, and applicable consumer protection laws.

Where required by applicable law, consumers retain all mandatory statutory rights, including applicable rights relating to refunds, cancellation, withdrawal, defective digital services, or non-conforming digital content.

For purchases of Credits:

  • Unused Credits may be eligible for a refund where required by applicable law or where expressly provided by a separate refund policy, if and when published.
  • Credits that have already been consumed to access or use a paid feature may generally not be refundable, except where required by applicable law.
  • If a paid feature fails due to a technical error attributable to EuropeCV — including failed AI processing, failed resume enhancement, failed cover letter generation, failed PDF generation, or incorrect Credit deduction — EuropeCV may restore the affected Credits or provide another appropriate remedy through the server-side systems implemented in the Service, subject to applicable law.
  • Duplicate payments, accidental duplicate purchases, or payment processing errors may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis where supported by transaction records.
  • Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by applicable law.
  • Credits are non-transferable between Accounts.

If you believe you were incorrectly charged, a paid feature failed, Credits were incorrectly deducted, or you made an accidental purchase, contact EuropeCV support at [email protected] with relevant transaction details, timestamps, and a description of the issue.

We will review payment and service-related disputes and, where appropriate, provide a refund, replacement Credits, or another appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law and any published refund policy.

Payments are processed through our third-party payment provider. EuropeCV does not store full payment card details.

We encourage you to contact EuropeCV support before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights to dispute a transaction or initiate a chargeback where legally available.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected fraudulent transactions, payment abuse, duplicate-refund abuse, or misuse of the Service and may restrict or suspend Accounts where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.

27. EU Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, mandatory rights under applicable consumer protection laws remain unaffected by these Terms.

This includes, where applicable, rights relating to withdrawal, refunds, defective digital services, non-conforming digital content, and consumer guarantees that cannot legally be excluded.

No provision of these Terms is intended to remove or restrict mandatory consumer rights.

28. Digital Services and Digital Content

The Service provides digital services and digital content such as AI analyses, generated documents, previews, and exports.

Performance of digital services may begin when you use purchased Credits or request generation, analysis, enhancement, or export functionality.

Legally required pre-contract information, consent, and acknowledgment for immediate performance of digital content or services must be provided through the checkout or purchase flow where required and are not satisfied by these Terms alone.

29. Right of Withdrawal for EU Consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may have a statutory right of withdrawal from certain distance contracts, subject to applicable law and exceptions.

Where applicable, the withdrawal period is generally 14 days from the conclusion of the contract.

For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium and digital services, you may lose your statutory right of withdrawal once performance begins if:

1. You have expressly requested that performance begin before the expiry of the withdrawal period; and

2. You have acknowledged that you may lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins, where required by applicable law.

The applicable consent and acknowledgment must be presented during the relevant purchase or checkout process where required. Relying on these Terms alone does not satisfy checkout consent requirements.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

30. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on Third-Party Services to operate. As currently implemented, these include Supabase (authentication, database, and storage), Stripe (payments), OpenRouter (AI inference), Google and LinkedIn (OAuth sign-in where selected), and hosting/infrastructure providers used to run the application (including Vercel, where applicable).

When you use the Service, User Content and related data may be transmitted to Third-Party Services as necessary to provide requested functionality, including AI processing, authentication, storage, payment processing, and document generation.

Third-Party Services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Those third-party terms apply to the third party's services and do not replace these Terms.

EuropeCV is not responsible for outages, errors, or acts or omissions of Third-Party Services, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

We do not make representations about third-party AI provider training, logging, or retention practices beyond what is disclosed in the Privacy Policy and our actual configuration. Detailed provider-specific disclosures belong in the Privacy Policy.

31. Privacy and GDPR

Our Privacy Policy at /privacy governs how we process personal data. These Terms do not replace the Privacy Policy.

Personal data may be processed to provide the Service, authenticate users, process payments, secure the Service, prevent fraud, provide customer support, and perform AI functionality where applicable, as further described in the Privacy Policy.

A Privacy Policy alone does not by itself establish GDPR compliance; compliance depends on actual processing practices, legal bases, disclosures, and safeguards.

32. Data Processing

Resume, CV, cover letter, and job-related data may include sensitive employment and personal information. You should only submit information you are authorized to provide.

Data retention, deletion, international transfers, subprocessors, and your rights are described in the Privacy Policy. These Terms summarize certain operational retention periods only where they are actually implemented in the Service.

33. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the Service and personal data, but no system is completely secure.

You use the Service at your own risk regarding unauthorized access, interception, or data loss, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

34. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. Maintenance, updates, outages, capacity limits, or failures may occur.

Availability may be affected by outages or degraded performance of Third-Party Services, including AI providers, payment providers, authentication providers, hosting providers, storage providers, or network infrastructure.

EuropeCV does not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation of the Service.

35. Service Changes

We may modify, improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features, templates, AI models, providers, pricing, Credit costs for future use, or other functionality.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes. Mandatory consumer rights regarding services already purchased or digital content already supplied remain unaffected.

Changes to future Credit pricing or consumption do not retroactively alter completed purchases except where required by law.

36. Account Suspension

We may suspend or restrict access for violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, payment abuse, security threats, legal requirements, or risks to the Service or other users, subject to applicable law.

37. Account Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

To request account closure or deletion of personal data, contact [email protected]. A self-service account deletion feature may not yet be available in all parts of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate Accounts for material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or legal requirements, subject to applicable law.

Termination or closure does not automatically entitle you to a refund of unused Credits except where required by applicable law or a published refund policy.

Unused Credits may be forfeited upon termination where permitted by applicable law and these Terms.

Payment records, billing records, fraud-prevention records, and other information may be retained after termination where required by law, for accounting, tax, dispute resolution, or security purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy.

38. Data Deletion and Retention

Upon termination or expiry of retention periods, we delete or anonymize data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention obligations and limited backup or security retention.

As currently implemented, automated retention includes approximately: uploaded original resume files and related saved records — 24 hours; enhanced resume files and related saved records — 7 days; cover letters — 7 days; dashboard intelligence data — 3 days, after which dashboard intelligence content may be cleared and dashboard access may be locked again.

Deletion from active systems does not necessarily mean immediate deletion from all backups, logs, payment records, authentication records, security records, or provider systems. Residual copies may persist for a limited period where technically necessary or legally required.

Account termination does not necessarily require deletion of information that must legally be retained.

39. AI, Employment, and Platform Disclaimer

EuropeCV is an independent career technology platform. EuropeCV is not an employer, recruiter, recruitment agency, hiring manager, career advisor unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, legal advisor, or government authority.

EuropeCV does not make hiring decisions, control employer ATS systems, guarantee interviews, guarantee callbacks, guarantee job offers, guarantee employment, or guarantee salary outcomes.

ATS scores, job-matching results, recommendations, and examples are estimates and informational tools only.

EuropeCV is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially associated with any employer, company, brand, recruitment platform, job board, or ATS provider referenced on the Service, including in resume examples, marketing materials, templates, or illustrative content, unless an explicit official relationship is stated.

Reference to third-party names, logos, or platforms is for identification or illustrative purposes only and does not imply endorsement or partnership.

40. No Guarantee of Employment

We do not guarantee interviews, callbacks, offers, salary outcomes, promotions, or employment of any kind.

Career outcomes depend on many factors outside EuropeCV's control, including employer decisions, market conditions, and the accuracy and suitability of your applications.

41. No Guarantee of ATS Results

We do not guarantee that any resume, CV, or document will pass any ATS, be parsed correctly by any employer system, or be selected by any employer or recruiter.

Different employers and ATS products use different rules, parsers, and workflows that may produce different results from those shown by the Service.

42. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and AI Output are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

Mandatory statutory rights and warranties that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

43. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EuropeCV is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or career opportunities arising from or related to the Service or AI Output.

Our total aggregate liability for claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid to EuropeCV for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €50.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, intentional misconduct, fraud, gross negligence where liability cannot be excluded, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.

44. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless EuropeCV from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your submission of inaccurate or unlawful information to third parties, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by EuropeCV's intentional misconduct or negligence.

If you are a consumer, this indemnification applies only to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction and does not override rights that cannot legally be waived.

45. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond reasonable control, such as outages, war, natural disasters, labor disputes, or failures of Third-Party Services, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

46. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or email where appropriate and required.

Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Mandatory consumer rights regarding changes to paid services remain unaffected.

47. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer with mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence, those protections remain available to you where they cannot legally be waived by contract.

48. Jurisdiction

If you use the Service as a business user, the courts of Baden-Württemberg, Germany have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer forum rules, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where those rights apply and cannot be excluded by contract.

49. Severability

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

50. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, pricing information presented at checkout, and any legally required purchase disclosures, constitute the entire agreement regarding the Service.

If a separate Refund Policy is published, it should be read together with these Terms and must be consistent with them.
